Daily Video Tips
thanks i learned something today
Hi, but what's not clear is if in the drill we are supposed to close the club face and then lean it at impact so it goes back square, then during the regular swing when we square the club face (instead of close) and then lean it at impact, would the club face be open in that case?
When you close the club face, do you rotate your hands counterclockwise, or do you rotate just the shaft, while leaving your hands in a neutral position?
Rotate the club and Re grip
Debbie, it appears the shaft lean is not so much at address. You must add the lean at impact ?? Another way to ask, how or when do you add the shaft lean.
At impact the hands come thru the ball first leading the club face on a downward trajectory into the ball
Hi Debbie,
This is great drill, I use a similar one with my students. The only thing that would make this video would have been a full swing at the end.
Thanks for great information,
Ryan
Debbie, thanks for that tip. I have been playing now for 70 years and I am 74 with a 2.3 handicap. I have always been a good iron players and have a relative new set of Srixon ZX 7 irons. I am having some issues with hitting just behind the ball at impact and consequently loosing like 10 to 15 yards on my distances. I try leaning the shaft forward at address but it just seems like I am flipping at the ball rather that driving thru it. Besides the tip you just game which I will do, any other suggestions? thanks John
Great explanation of how to deloft the club!
