Daily Video Tips
Any suggestions for senior golfers specially on 25’+ long putts?
I am really terrible with my hybrid and 3-wood. Frustrated to the point that I hardly play with them. Very rarely I get a good shot but I have no idea what I did to achieve those yardage. This is very good tip for me to try next time. Thank you.
Is a strong grip or a weak grip better to create more "whip" or club head speed ?
Neither... whip is created by proper sequencing and club release. Strength of grip is more of a club face thing and whether yours is too open or closed at impact....
I suggest Soft grip fir all strocks.
thanks Martin for that driver check point
Debbie, I am interested in why delofting at impact improves the quality of the strike. Exactly what is happening technically and why is it different to simply using a lower lofted club with the inappropriate scoopy swing?
Gordon: delofting the club increases the solidity of the strike and less of a glancing blow which translates to more ball speed and distance. Why would you not want to hit a 9 iron 150 yards instead of a 5 iron?
Hello Jim, many thanks for your reply. Am I right in thinking that you have been making constructive contributions since the Rev Golf days? Delofting a #9 does make it somewhat like a #7, but the ball flight is different. I would like to know the physical/mechanical reason for that. I suspect it has to do with spin and compression.
G'day Debbie, Thank you for this tip, quite simple and clearly explained.
